Watch one virgin reveal his ‘Bachelorette’ past

On Hulu’s new dating series Are You My First?, a group of men and women who have never had sex convene in a tropical locale in hopes of finding love. But in Entertainment Weekly‘s exclusive preview, the men are shocked to learn that one of the guys they’ll be competing against isn’t a virgin — at least when it comes to reality TV.

In the first-look clip, the virgins have gathered for a get-to-know-you chat. Godwin — a 27-year-old real estate developer from New Jersey — asks another contestant, Mike, to introduce himself to his fellow virgins. It’s a decision Godwin quickly regrets.

The more the women learn about Mike — he has his own business, he’s in great shape, he’s 34 and ready to settle down — the more interested they get. And when Mike reveals that he was once a contestant on The Bachelorette, Godwin isn’t the only guy who’s freaking out. The other men are convinced that Mike’s previous reality TV experience will give him a leg up on the competition. Case in point: Andrew, 25, whose face says it all:

For those of you who don’t watch an alarming amount of reality TV and therefore may not be familiar with Mike, he appeared on Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette in 2021. At the time, Mike — who owns a gym in San Diego — described himself as “easygoing” and “disciplined.” So disciplined, in fact, that during the season we learned Mike hadn’t eaten a carb in seven years (!), but that didn’t stop him from devouring a plate of Twinkies during a game of truth or dare on a group date.

Ultimately, though, Katie sent Mike home after an EXTREMELY AWKWARD “cuddle” date, which is forever burned into my memory. But it’s clear Godwin, Andrew, and the other guys on Are You My First? don’t know anything about that — otherwise, they wouldn’t view Mike as such a threat.
