EXCLUSIVE: Artists First has signed rising Australian actor Zoe Terakes for representation.
Breaking out with a memorable turn in A24’s horror hit Talk to Me, which brought them their second AACTA Award nomination, Terakes can currently be seen playing Jeri Blood in the Marvel series Ironheart airing on Disney+.
Starring prior to that in the Aussie remake of The Office that premiered last year, they’ve also had major recurring roles on Nine Perfect Strangers for Hulu opposite Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy and the Australian series Wentworth. Additional TV credits include Hulu’s Creamerie, Amazon’s The Moth Effect, Foxtel’s The End, and ABC1’s Janet King.
On the film side, Terakes has also been AACTA Award-nominated for their role the coming-of-age indie Ellie & Abbie (& Ellie’s Dead Aunt). They also have an extensive theatre background, having started on the stage. Most notably, they received two Sydney Theatre Awards and were nominated for a Helpmann Award for their work in A View from The Bridge at The Old Fitz & the Melbourne Theatre Company.
As a writer, Terakes has two book deals with Hachette in Australia and is currently developing a stage play adaption of a short story from their collection Eros: Queer Myths for Lovers. They continue to be represented by Shanahan Management in Australia and Sloane Offer Weber & Dern.
