Founded by John Romero and Brenda Romero in 2015, Romero Games is an indie studio based in Ireland. We owe it Empire of Sin, which released back in 2020.
Alas, the company has been impacted by Microsoft’s recent layoffs and budget cuts. As a result, all funding for an unannounced FPS developed by Romero Games has been withdrawn.
On social networks, the studio says it is currently evaluating the next steps for the company’s future and providing support to its teams. We don’t know if there will be any layoffs, or even a close its doors.
