Why Our Experts Rate This Prime Day OLED TV Deal

We love it when another Amazon Prime Day arrives. This one runs from 8-11th July 2025 and our experts have been busy hunting down the very best tech deals to help you bring your favourite movies and shows to life. But it wouldn’t be an Empire-worthy Amazon sale without some serious discounts on one our favourite entertainment brands: LG. And not just any LG either – this LG OLED55C45LA 55-Inch 4K smart TV has a huge £200 off in the Prime Day sale and is a leader in its class.
There aren’t too many brands that repeatedly ticks all of the boxes when it comes to high-end features that appeal to movie and TV fans, but LG is definitely on our shortlist of the best TVs. As a 2024 model from LG, it comes sporting more advanced features than some equally-priced 2025 models from lesser brands.
We also featured this outstanding OLED in our rundown of the best 55-inch TVs, as the LG OLED55C45LA is part of LG’s Evo range. That means that it has better brightness, colour accuracy and superior AI picture processing than non-Evo models. In our book that’s definitely worth spending a few extra pounds on.

Taking a closer look, this LG has the latest Gen7 AI chip which has been designed specifically for getting the best out of OLED panels. There’s also the excellent Brightness Booster technology that boasts a 30 per cent uptick in brightness over LG’s non-Evo models. But of course this wouldn’t be quite as stunning without the inky deep blacks of that 4K panel, enhanced even further by top-end HDR (High Dynamic Range) support for over a billion colours, including Dolby Vision and HDR10 Pro.
It’s no slouch for gamers either, as its 120Hz refresh rate, low input lag and 1 millisecond response time rivals some of the best gaming monitors. Your 4K gaming, movies and TV shows will look spectacular, but they’ll also sound amazing too thanks to the inclusion of Dolby Atmos.
As for smarts, this LG has plenty. The remote control includes a built-in voice command, and the whole set works with Amazon Alexa, which means you can control the TV or your smart home using a device like the Amazon Echo Dot (currently heavily discounted).
