Who was NYC designer Martha Nolan, found dead on a boat in Long Island after late-night screams?

A woman was found unconscious on board a boat in Montauk on Tuesday while the boat as docked at the Montauk Yacht Club. Police identified the 33-year-old woman on Wednesday as Irish designer Martha Nolan. The cause of her mysterious death is not known. Members of the Montauk Yacht Club, including some captains, heard screaming from the docks late Monday, one club member told the New York Post. “She was well known in the community. She was very friendly. Always smiling,” one member of the yacht club said, adding, “There’s going to be a lot of conversation out of this.”According to Nolan’s LinkedIn profile, she was a marketing consultant, entrepreneur, and founder of fashion brand East x East. Born in Ireland, Nolan moved to the US at the age of 26 and started to work for her fashion brand. People who knew her told she was quite popular and was known to be very kind and smiling. A statement from police reads: “East Hampton Town Police responded to a 911 call from a man reporting a woman unconscious on a boat docked at the Montauk Yacht Club, on Star Island Road, at approximately 12. a.m.”“Good Samaritans attempted to perform CPR on the woman. Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra, 33, of Manhattan, was pronounced dead on the boat by First Responders.”“The preliminary investigation and exam were inconclusive regarding the cause of death, which will be determined by an autopsy conducted by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office,” it said. One claimed that the boat owner was seen running naked outside and screaming, ‘that’s my girlfriend’ as he desperately tried to get help.
