‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Teaser Promises Twisted Family Drama and New Mysteries at Nevermore | Watch

*Netflix’s “Wednesday” is creeping back with Season 2, and it’s gearing up to be even stranger, spookier, and more family-packed than before.
The hit gothic series returns in two parts: Part 1 drops on August 6, followed by Part 2 on September 3, and fans just got a chilling first look with a newly released teaser trailer.
Jenna Ortega reprises her role as the sharp-tongued, death-obsessed teen Wednesday Addams, and she’s also stepping behind the scenes as a producer this time around. “Wednesday Addams is one of the coolest characters of all time,” Ortega says, per Tudum. “She runs circles around everyone that she has a conversation with… it’s so much fun.”
This season, Nevermore Academy welcomes a familiar face: Wednesday’s younger brother, Pugsley, played by Isaac Ordonez, is now a student. “He’s kind of an outcast among outcasts,” says director Tim Burton, adding that Pugsley is just discovering his supernatural abilities. As if that weren’t enough family drama, Morticia and Gomez Addams are more present than ever, much to Wednesday’s dismay.

The cast also welcomes Joanna Lumley as Morticia’s mother, Hester Frump, who emerges as a rare ally for Wednesday. “She’s perfect and hilarious,” says co-creator Miles Millar. “That Wednesday-Hester relationship is unique.” Lumley, delighted to join Burton’s world, adds, “It’s just intoxicating… I get to wear many, many huge wigs.”
With Nevermore now under new management following Principal Weems’ demise, Steve Buscemi steps in as Principal Barry Dort. “Something about him is not right,” Buscemi teases. “But he loves the school and has real outcast pride.”
“Season 1 really focused on Wednesday, but you met the other characters but didn’t get to know them, and now we get to expand their storylines and expand the scope and breadth of the show,” series creator Alfred Gough tells Tudum about this upcoming chapter.
Familiar faces return too—Enid, Bianca, Tyler, and of course, Thing—along with Uncle Fester, whose role is getting more screen time this season. As for Wednesday’s expectations? “Nothing is what it seems,” warns Millar. “She thinks she knows where all the bodies are buried—and she doesn’t.”
Season 2 promises new mysteries, dark family dynamics, and unpredictable twists. In Ortega’s words: “It’s quite funny and strange and enjoyable.” And for Wednesday Addams, that’s exactly how she likes it.
