There are few tabletop classics out there that are quite as timeless as Uno. And Mattel163 have done a good job of translating that classic onto mobile. Now, tabletop fans can join in the fun with the newly released Uno: Arcade Edition and enjoy a new spin on the format to play with friends, available exclusively on Apple Arcade!
Uno: Arcade Edition translates the classic friendship ruiner to a digital tabletop, offering the familiar, easy-to-follow rules of the original while also adding in new twists on the formula. You’ll be able to dive into multiple modes, from quick match to custom and even single player for those on the go without an internet connection.
Naturally, while all the old favourites are present, you can also rely on some new ways to twist the rules even further. Be it Wild Swap Hands, Color Showdown or Double Discard All, self-proclaimed experts can’t rely on their previous expertise when they’re duking it out online.
Reversal
Considering that Mattel163 already has the amazingly well-done Uno! on mobile, just having a regular digital version wasn’t going to cut it. So it’s good to see that they’ve gone the extra step with this Arcade Edition and added in exclusive cards and rules to help mix up the familiar formula.
At the same time, when it comes to multiplayer, I’m always a little sceptical about Apple Arcade. While co-op is easy enough, getting together eight friends for multiplayer is always difficult, let alone when it comes to something that’s on a specific OS or subscription, such as Apple Arcade.
