Universal Pictures Unveils Terrifying Trailer for ‘HIM’ Starring Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers | Watch
*A new horror-thriller, “HIM,” from Oscar winner Jordan Peele and Monkeypaw Productions, takes audiences into a dark exploration of fame and ambition.
The film features Marlon Wayans in a dramatic shift, playing Isaiah White, an eight-time championship quarterback, alongside Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade, a rising college football star. The newly released official trailer, released by Universal Pictures, sets the stage for a psychological descent when Cam suffers a career-threatening brain injury from a fan’s attack before the NFL Combine.
Cam’s fortunes pivot when Isaiah offers to mentor him at a remote compound shared with his influencer wife, Elsie White, portrayed by Julia Fox. Directed by Justin Tipping from a Black List script by Zack Akers, Skip Bronkie, and Tipping, the story darkens as Isaiah’s guidance turns sinister. “HIM” probes the lengths one might go to achieve greatness, with Cam’s training pushing him toward an unsettling breaking point.
The cast includes Tim Heidecker and Jim Jefferies, with Maurice Greene, Guapdad 4000, and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack making their feature film debuts. Watch the trailer above
Produced by Ian Cooper, Peele, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson, with David Kern and Kate Oh as executive producers, the film builds on Monkeypaw’s legacy with “Get Out,” “Us,” “Candyman,” and “Nope.”
Set for a nationwide theatrical release on September 19, 2025, “HIM” promises a genre-blending narrative. The trailer hints at a nightmarish twist on the sports underdog tale, questioning identity and the cost of success.
