Two Ts in a Pod podcast: Teddi Mellencamp reveals she’s pausing immunotherapy treatment during stage four melanoma battle

Teddi Mellencamp has revealed she is taking a break from her immunotherapy treatment for stage four melanoma after suffering side effects.

The former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and podcaster opened up about the latest turn of events in her cancer battle in a segment for her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod.

Wearing a baseball cap and with her voice shaking, Mellencamp, 44, recorded a special segment of her podcast Two Ts in a Pod and a video to reveal she was pausing her lifesaving treatment until she felt well enough to resume.

She said she would step away from recording her two successful podcasts on days she wasn’t feeling well enough to continue.

Mellencamp is one half of the Two Ts in a Pod alongside Tamra Judge, but was absent from the most recent episode.

She instead recorded a 20-minute segment in which she spoke to the show’s producer and one of her “best friends”, Matt Laffery, to provide an update on her health.

Mellencamp revealed that she had not been feeling good “for about a month, which was kind of shocking to me” because she had “felt so good after my surgeries”, radiation and earlier immunotherapy treatments.

“So why am I not able to do this right now? Like why do I feel like I can barely open my eyes or keep my words straight?” she said.

“And I kind of learned why this week at the doctors.

“What’s happening with me is the longer that I’m on immunotherapy, the sicker it’s making me. It’s really hit me.

“So what the doctors have decided to do for me because this immunotherapy had hit me so incredibly hard, they did a bunch of scans and everything’s looking good. Everything’s shrinking,” she said in reference to the tumours in her brain and lungs.

“[So] we’re going to take a little break on the immunotherapy to get my body back feeling strong. I’m on steroids and we’re doing everything we can to get me back to feeling like I can do this.”

She also revealed the “hardest thing for me has been the wake-up call of ‘Wow, I can’t do what I did yesterday’.”

Mellencamp explained this did not mean she would not have further immunotherapy in the future.

“We’re really working with a team of people to try to get me as healthy as possible and try and get me back to feeling like myself because you know I do love this job so much.”

Mellencamp also explained why she had been absent from the most recent podcast.

”And so if I ever feel like I can’t give a good pod, I would rather have someone step in and do it on time… because selfishly it makes it a lot easier for me because [what] people don’t know about these brain tumours and having stage four cancer [is] your memory goes a little bit.

“On the days I feel good, I want to take advantage of it, and the days I feel terrible I have to listen to my body.

“And it’s scary and I feel ‘less than’ on the days I can’t show up and be here for you guys.”

Mellencamp was first diagnosed with melanoma in 2022 and underwent numerous surgeries to remove cancers from her back.

In February this year she was rushed to hospital where it was found she had multiple brain tumours. After brain surgery and further tests, it was confirmed she had stage four melanoma which had spread to her brain and lungs.

She later revealed doctors had given her a 50-50 chance of survival.
