Trump’s Tariffs Hurt Consumers Most of All – The Journal of Steffanie Rivers | WATCH

*Donald Trump called it “Liberation Day,” but when it comes to the real cost of tariffs and what they will do to consumers, it’s about to feel more like shackles on our feet!  

It’s looking like nobody did the real cost analysis on what tariffs will cost consumers. 

In case you didn’t know, the United States imports everything from produce and plastics to metal and car parts. At some point, somebody decided these goods were cheaper to buy from other countries instead of producing them at home.

If the Trump administration wants to force countries to undo trade agreements, apparently American consumers will bear the brunt of the cost.

That means if countries pay the tariff’s they probably will pass on the cost to consumers, because that’s how business works.

If countries don’t pay the tariff that means goods already in the pipeline will still be more expensive, because of the lack of goods available. Either way prices are going up.

Elon Musk lost $11 billion of wealth in a single day.  Jeff Bezos lost more than $15 billion after Amazon stock prices dropped. Meta founder Mark Zuckerburg lost $17 billion in personal wealth after tariffs went into effect. I don’t know what’s worse; that they lost that much individual wealth or that they lost that much wealth and still have some left. 

These tariffs were supposed to make other countries bow down, but so far that’s not happening. Some of them are imposing their own reciprocal tariffs on the United States.
