- Pixel Starships is set to receive a major new revamp with the War Games update
- Experience a suite of new improvements, including layout editing
- Jump into the competition with the debut of seasonal leaderboards
When Pixel Starships initially launched on mobile, few of us were very enthused by the at-the-time very oversaturated base-building genre. However, through years of updates and plenty of high-profile collabs, Pixel Starships has become a bona fide fan favourite. Something which sure to be secured with the debut of the new War Games update.
Pixel Starships is, quite literally, one of the poster children for updates improving the experience. And the War Games update offers a suite of new additions that emphasise that. There’s the addition of layout editing, challenges and even a suite of new items to help you get your Captain ready for the ultimate competition.
The update will also debut seasonal leaderboards, a variety of new items and plenty of fresh strategic choices to be made. But it’s not just new features either, as War Games’ additional challenges present a way for veteran captains to flex their skills, and newbies to take a trial by fire.
Let the (War) Games begin
But enough about all that, what actually are the War Games we speak of? Well, in these new challenges, you’ll take on new targets. Powerful ships, including the multi-shielded Juggernaut, laser-packed Lancier and Carrier’s swarming starfighters, present a true challenge for even the most experienced captain.
With the War Games challenges, you’ll be offered a single attack vector with which to achieve your objective. Be that a Turkey Shoot where you destroy as many craft as possible, Sabotage where you deal as much system damage as you can, a simple time trial and others!
You can check out the full details of War Games and the other additions over on the Pixel Starships blog!
