Tim Malcolm on Veronica’s Response to 90 Day: Hunt for Love Casting

Tim Malcolm revealed how his ex-girlfriend and close friend, Veronica Rodriguez, reacted to him being cast on 90 Day: Hunt for Love during an exclusive interview with In Touch.
“Veronica at the time was single, so she was jealous. She wanted to go. So that was her reaction,” Tim, 44, exclusively told In Touch at Us Weekly and TLC’s celebration party for 90 Day: Hunt for Love in New York City on Monday, May 19. “It sounded super cool to her.”
Before both Tim and Veronica, 39, made their reality TV debuts, they were in a relationship for eight years and were even engaged. Despite having a messy split, they have managed to maintain a strong friendship and they even consider themselves coparents for her daughter, Chloe, whom she welcomed during a previous relationship.
Both Tim and Veronica have documented relationships with other people on the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, while they’ve been able to give glimpses into their friendships on shows including 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk.
“Me and Veronica have a very interesting relationship. Like we’ve stayed coparents, but having the history we have when she’s single and if I’m single, we still fight like exes,” Tim explained to In Touch.
After noting that Veronica “was supportive” of him joining the new TLC show, Tim added, “But of course she was like, ’You know, you need to get outta your …’ She always critiques me like she’s some dating master, but she was glad that I got the opportunity and, you know, I think we both just want success for each other.”
90 Day: Hunt for Love features eight 90 Day Fiancé alums who are “ready to embark on a quest for love once again,” according to the official press release.
In addition to revealing Veronica’s reaction to his casting on the franchise’s latest spinoff, Tim also spoke to In Touch about his hopes to settle down one day. “I’ve always wanted to be married. If you look back at my dating history before 90 Day, my first relationship was 10 years. I raised two kids with her,” Tim explained. “And then I met Veronica. We were engaged for seven years and I raised Chloe. Chloe’s going on to college now. Veronica and I split in 2015.”
He continued, “I’ve been kind of single for 10 years now, but I’ve always wanted to be married and have children.”
“At this age, I still think marriage obviously is attainable,” Tim said. “The children thing is getting close to the line.”

Meanwhile, Tim also reflected on why some of his relationships with Jeniffer Tarazona and Linda Ramirez didn’t work out.
“People always debated my sexuality. They see me with these beautiful women and they’re like, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ But I still stand by that if the chemistry is not there at my age now, which I’m turning 45 in like three weeks, I don’t need to take it to a physical level if I know it’s not gonna work,” he explained. “When I was in my 30s, it was like, ‘OK, I have a couple years to wait to see how this plays out now if there’s some red flags in the beginning.’ I feel like I don’t have two years to throw away on somebody.”
Fans can continue to watch Tim’s journey to find love when 90 Day: Hunt for Love premieres on TLC Monday, May 26, at 8 p.m. ET.
