Woman, 22, dies in hospital after being hit by car in Malvern, Melbourne

A young woman has died after being struck by a car in Melbourne’s southeast.

The 22-year-old was hit on Malvern Rd, near the intersection of Meredith St, in Malvern about 6pm on Thursday.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died on Friday morning.

The driver of the vehicle, a 62-year-old man, stopped at the scene and assisted.

“The exact circumstances of the collision are being investigated,” police said.
