Wimbledon 2025 LIVE scores and results as Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner play in fourth round

Electronic line calling at Wimbledon is an unnecessary disaster of their own making

The introduction of electronic line calling (ELC) at this year’s Wimbledon, a technology already used elsewhere on the tour, was always going to be controversial. The Championships at the All England Club are a tournament steeped in tradition, positively drenched in it – from the customary white attire adorned by players, to the men’s and women’s title winners dancing at the Champions’ Ball, to revellers relaxing on Henman Hill and enjoying Pimm’s, strawberries and cream.

When is Cameron Norrie vs Carlos Alcaraz quarter-final at Wimbledon?

Cameron Norrie is the last Briton left in the Wimbledon singles draw after fighting through a four hours and 27 minute thriller against Nicolas Jarry.

The Brit had a match point saved in the third set before Chilean Jarry took the next two sets to force a decider which Norrie managed to win.

The 29-year-old became only the third male British player to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals twice this century after Tim Henman and Andy Murray. He now faces his most difficult test of the campaign when he takes on Carlos Alcaraz.

Aryna Sabalenka’s impressive grand slam streak goes on at Wimbledon

The world number one is yet to drop a set but has been pushed in all of her matches so far, with her latest scrap seeing her overcome former doubles partner Mertens 6-4 7-6 (4).

There was not the same sense of jeopardy as there had been in Sabalenka’s late-night duel with Emma Raducanu in the third round, with the top seed never behind but unable to shake off Mertens until the second-set tie-break.

Which British tennis players are still playing singles at Wimbledon?

As is always the case when Wimbledon rolls around, British fans have their eyes on the home favourites bidding for singles glory in London.

Andy Murray ended a 77-year wait for a home champion at the grass-court grand slam in 2013, before replicating his triumph in 2016, but there have been no British winners in the singles draw since – on either the men’s or women’s side.

Still, day one saw a record seven Britons advance this year, but how are the home crop faring as the rounds go on?

Cameron Norrie fights through five-set epic to reach Wimbledon quarter-finals

The report from one of yesterday’s highlights…

The 29-year-old led by two sets and had a match point in the third, but was taken to a fifth by the 6ft 7in Chilean.

However, Norrie held his nerve in the decider and did not drop serve all day in a 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (7), 6-7 (5), 6-3 victory over a gruelling four hours and 27 minutes.

Wimbledon officials apologise after line-calling tech is turned off in error

After an investigation, organisers have admitted the technology was turned off in error on a section of the court for a game, with the mistake only becoming apparent when a shot from Kartal that clearly missed the baseline was not called out.

Had the call been correct, it would have given Pavlyuchenkova a 5-4 lead in the first set, but instead umpire Nico Helwerth ruled the point should be replayed, with Kartal going on to win the game.
