It goes without saying, but the Switch 2 is a real hit, having sold 3.5 million units in just four days. And it turns out the console was even a stronger phenomenon in Japan.
There, Nintendo managed to sell 947,931 Switch 2s during its first week on sale. This is the best launch for a console in the country, period. In second place, we find the PS2 with 630,552 units, followed by the Game Boy with 611,504, and finally the DS with 468,880 copies.
Also in Japan, Mario Kart World sold 782,566 units.
