The success of The Elder Scrolls Online over the past 11 years has not been enough to save ZeniMax Online Studios’ new game. This was to be an MMO about which we know little.
Alas, the recent layoffs at Microsoft have taken their toll on this mysterious project. Following this announcement, Matt Firor, who worked at ZeniMax Online after founding it in 2007, made his departure official.
"After more than 18 years leading ZeniMax Online Studios, I’ll be stepping away later this month. The studio and The Elder Scrolls Online will be in good hands under the leadership of new Studio Head Jo Burba, Executive Producer Susan Kath and Creative Director Rich Lambert."
"Together, this management team has spearheaded many of ESO’s major ideas and expansions, and will continue to make the game something we’re all proud of. Even if I’m no longer working on the game, I’ll be cheering you on and adding hours to the thousands I’ve already spent on it."
