The NVIDIA T239 SoC is back before the launch of the Switch 2

The T239 SoC, which is supposed to power the new Nintendo Switch 2, has been spotted again ahead of its official launch. Images published by Kurnarl and Geekerwan show a motherboard purchased on the second-hand market in China for around 138 USD. Although the board doesn’t work, it serves us to analyze the chipset.

The T239 uses Ampere architecture with 1536 CUDA cores and 8 ARM Cortex-A78C cores. The die measures 207 mm², around twice the size of the Tegra X1. The card also features two 6 GB Hynix LPDDR5 chips on a 128-bit bus, with a frequency of 8533 MT/s.

According to a simulation carried out with an RTX 2050 GPU, performance in docked mode could be close to that of a GTX 1050 Ti with DLSS, and in portable mode, to that of a GTX 750 Ti. However, these figures have yet to be confirmed.
