According to journalist Jez Corden, Microsoft may abandon the traditional console concept for its next machine. Planned for 2027, this device would function like a Windows PC, with a casing adapted to TV sets and specifications defined to facilitate the work of developers.
The idea would be to offer a system optimized for gaming, while allowing it to be used like a computer too. Compatible with various peripherals, it could incorporate a mode enabling us to switch between a console interface and a classic Windows environment.
This approach is part of a broader strategy by Microsoft, which is betting more and more on the Xbox ecosystem beyond physical consoles.
