Do Tiffany and Zavier Get Married in ‘Madea’s Destination Wedding’?

*Tyler Perry’s iconic matriarch returns in “Madea’s Destination Wedding,” which debuted on Netflix on July 11, bringing her signature humor to a vibrant Bahamas backdrop.
The 13th film in the Madea franchise follows Madea (Perry) as she joins her nephew Brian (also Perry) and his ex-wife Debrah (Taja V. Simpson) for their daughter Tiffany’s (Diamond White) sudden wedding to rapper Zavier (Xavier Smalls). “Audiences have enjoyed watching Madea in hilariously entertaining scenarios as the family’s matriarch, but now she’s a fish out of water on vacation,” Perry told PEOPLE.
The story begins when Tiffany announces her engagement to Zavier, a rapper she met just a few weeks ago, with the wedding set for in only two weeks. Brian grows wary of Zavier’s flashy persona, while Madea suspects Debrah is hiding something about the rushed nuptials. The star-studded cast, including Cassi Davis Patton, David Mann, Tamela Mann, and Taja V. Simpson, delivers the franchise’s familiar blend of comedy and drama, with newcomers Diamond White and Xavier Smalls adding fresh energy.
Madea’s suspicions peak at a casino, where she overhears Debrah’s wealthy husband, Dennis (Brandon Sutton), discussing a divorce and a $1 million payment promised to Tiffany if she marries—a deal Debrah knew about but kept from her daughter. “They’re like the family members that have passed on who are still in my brain, and their joy and their laughter and their time, their funny stuff is all in my head,” Perry said of his characters. Madea confronts Tiffany with the truth, sparking outrage.
Furious at her mother’s betrayal, Tiffany calls off the wedding, halting the ceremony before it begins. As the tale unfolds, Tiffany, swayed by Zavier’s sincere talk with her father, reverses her decision and marries him in a brief Bahamas ceremony with family present.

The film, Perry’s 30th as a filmmaker and second Netflix collaboration after 2022’s “A Madea Homecoming,” celebrates 20 years since Madea’s debut in 2005’s “Diary of a Mad Black Woman.”
“To see that this character is still enduring, and people are still watching and enjoying and laughing, it’s really mind-blowing to me,” Perry reflected, per Tudum.
“I keep coming back because some of this is just escapism,” he shared. “Just let’s leave the world behind for a moment and come to Madea’s house, and have some good food and laugh, and cry and celebrate and be all of those things.”
