It’s unlikely that you’ll be able to scour the gaming press to get an informed opinion on the Switch 2 before its release on June 5.
According to Christopher Dring of The Game Business, some major gaming media will only have the console at launch. Nintendo explains that this is due to the fact that a very important day one patch will be required to launch the machine.
One anonymous journalist expressed frustration at the situation, particularly as the Switch 2’s arrival will coincide with the Summer Game Fest on June 6. While some of the press have already been invited to try out the console during the tour organized after its presentation, we will get no truly independent reviews on release.
