This is sad news from the French video game industry. According to content creator and former Gamekult editor Gautoz, Microids Studio Paris has been completely dismantled.
Several sources have confirmed that the thirty or so employees have been made redundant, and that the branch founded in October 2021 is set to close its doors. Studio Paris worked on the latest Syberia and supported various Microids projects. The studio is also due to release Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy on April 24.
After being contacted by Gautoz, the French publisher declined to comment on the matter. A spokesperson simply stated that L’Amerzone went gold a few weeks ago. The game “has been finalized by the entire studio staff."
