Ted Lasso 4 Begins Shooting – Taking The Gang Out Of Richmond

Five years ago, in the absolute thick of COVID lockdowns, Ted Lasso became something of a lifeline. Apple TV+’s comedy-drama had a warm spirit and sense of hope that was desperately needed at the time, charting Jason Sudeikis’ titular American football coach as he crossed the pond to rouse (proper) football team AFC Richmond into a force for good on the pitch and beyond. It all came to a decisive end in 2023 with a third and final season – until Apple confirmed the news everybody wanted, bringing Ted and team back for another run.

Season 4 has now officially begun shooting, as confirmed in a teaser video shared online. And, as you’ll see, it doesn’t look like they’re in Richmond.

Here he have Sudeikis reunited with Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple and Jeremy Swift, for a scene shot in Sudeikis’ home of Kansas City. Since Lasso headed back to the States at the end of Season 3, we can expect some US-based antics in Season 4. However, we do know that the season will involve Lasso being drawn back to the UK – here’s a brief bit of official plot synopsis: “Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”

With cameras now rolling, expect Ted Lasso Season 4 to likely hit Apple in 2026 – sure to bring another boost of positivity to our lives. Frankly, there’s never a bad time for that.
