Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo cafe claim: The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville denies Rodrigo’s team asked for Swift photos to be removed from venue
An iconic US music venue has denied Olivia Rodrigo’s team had a Taylor Swift photo removed from the site before filming there.
Rodrigo, known for hits including Good 4 u and Drivers License, performed at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville back in 2023. The walls of the cafe are lined with pictures.
This week, a video went viral that showed an employee of the venue claiming, “We vowed to remove any visible signs of Taylor Swift” before the performance, adding, “We respect the girlies.”

Now, The Bluebird Cafe’s General Manager and COO Erika Wollam Nichols has clarified things in a new video shared on the venue’s X account.
“I wanted to bring some truth to some questions and dicussions that have been put out on the internet,” Wollam Nichols began.
Some fans online are speculating there is a feud between the two artists; this discussion has taken place for years.
“Olivia’s people did not ask us to remove an image of Taylor Swift. Nobody did,” she explained.
She insisted the “image was removed for legal reasons”.
“We removed an image of Taylor Swift that was in a position where the filming was taking place.”

Wollam Nichols said there are issues surrounding copyright.
“When we have filmings, we are required legally to remove images that are under copyright.
“We don’t own those images, so we cannot give permission for those images to be used in any kind of broadcast.”
“That’s the sole reason that the photograph was removed from the place it stood.”

Of the employee featured in the viral clip, Wollam Nichols said he “spoke out of turn”.
“[He] did not understand why that image was removed, he spoke carelessly and haphazardly about it, maybe trying to be funny, I don’t know,” she said.
“But irregardless, that image was removed for legal reasons.”
She added there was no feud between the two stars, Rodrigo and Swift, amid some speculation online.
Wollam Nichols said some other images in the room were also removed.
“This was not anything between two artists,” she concluded.
