Sony still doesn't plan to add its exclusives day one on PlayStation Plus

Unlike Microsoft, Sony has decided not to bring its first party titles in PlayStation Plus on release. The Japanese manufacturer usually waits several months before adding them to the catalog.

In an interview with Game File, Nick Maguire, the company’s vice-president of worldwide services, made it very clear that this practice will not change.

"We’ve kind of stayed true to our strategy across the board, when we’re not looking to put games in day and date."

"Our strategy of finding four or five independent day-and-date titles—and using that to complement our strategy of bringing games in when they’re 12, 18 months old or older—that balance for us is working really well across the platform."

When asked about the classic games reserved for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, Maguire said he wanted to add "at least one a month".
