Tyra Banks found herself heating up Today With Jenna & Friends while cohosting Friday’s episode.
The 51-year-old supermodel and America’s Next Top Model star revealed to Jenna Bush Hager that she was suddenly having a “micro” hot flash live on air during a discussion about wearing nightgowns to bed.
“I’m hot because I’m hot-flashing,” Banks said. “Literally right now, I’m having a hot flash.”

Her confession took Hager by surprise. “Right this minute?” the host asked, to which Banks responded, “Yes. It’s happening.”
Banks went on to explain what the sensation felt like. “It’s on the inside and it kind of starts here,” she said, patting the sides of her nose and mouth with her fingertips. “It’s a micro one. Out of a scale of one to 10, it’s like a four.”

Hager then steered the conversation away from Banks to a recent report that Gen Z does not like to eat cereal, causing Banks to throw her hands up and burst into laughter.
According to the Mayo Clinic, hot flashes are a sudden feeling of warmth that spread throughout the upper body, often affecting the face, chest, and neck. They are a common symptom for individuals who are going through menopause.
Banks opened up about how she deals with hot flashes in a 2024 interview with PEOPLE.
“Women that are approaching 50, I’m not sure if you started hot-flashing yet, but it may come and it is not the end of the world,” she said. “Use that time that you wake up in the middle of the night to just take care of some things because it will wake you up. Read that book, do that crossword puzzle. Watch the end of that show that you were just so amazed with.”
The Coyote Ugly actress also emphasized that the flashes were nothing to be embarrassed about. “Don’t be ashamed about it because we [are] all going to go through it and now we can do it together and talk about it, which is really cool,” she said, “and much better than what our parents had to do: just hold it in and pretend like I’m not hot-flashing. Isn’t that the sun? No, child. That’s you and that’s okay, boo.”

Banks isn’t the only host who has experienced a hot flash while filming a daytime talk show. Drew Barrymore had one while shooting her show in April that was so overwhelming, she had to have her cohosts, Valerie Bertinelli and Ross Mathews, fan her down in the middle of a food segment.
“It’s just so weird that they come out of nowhere, you know?” the actress confessed at the time as she tried to cool down by waving her hand in front of her face. “I’m so lightheaded right now.”
Barrymore’s first-ever hot flash was actually documented on her talk show during a 2023 interview with Murder Mystery 2 stars Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler. “For the first time, I think I’m having my first hot flash!” she said. “Do you feel this?”
Aniston put her hand to Barrymore’s chest before responding, “Oh, I do. It’s internal heat.”
