*The “Power” universe is expanding once again. STARZ has officially ordered “Power: Origins,” an 18-episode prequel series that will follow the early years of franchise icons Ghost and Tommy.

Per the network’s release, the new series will dive into the ambitions and audacity that drove the young duo to build their empire on the streets of New York City, long before they became household names. Described as a fun and rowdy entry into a different era of the “Power” saga, the show promises a closer look at how these two legends-in-the-making began their journey.

MeKai Curtis, known for his portrayal of Kanan Stark in “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” is confirmed to return in “Power: Origins.”

Showrunner Sascha Penn, who also serves as writer and executive producer, expressed his excitement about the project.

“I’m excited to continue to explore the origin stories of the Power Universe’s founding fathers,” Penn said. “Ghost and Tommy’s backstories have fueled years of constant fascination and speculation among fans… viewers won’t see [what’s coming].”

Power Book II: Ghost

Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming at STARZ, added, “Our fans have been asking for Ghost and Tommy’s origins story since we first met them in Power — and with the launch of this series, we’re delivering in a big way.”

“Power: Origins” becomes the fourth spinoff from the original “Power” series. It follows “Power Book II: Ghost,” which wrapped its fourth and final season in 2024; “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” which has completed filming for its fifth and final season; and Power “Book IV: Force,” whose third and final season is set to air this fall.

The series is produced by Lionsgate Television for STARZ. Executive producers include original Power creator Courtney A. Kemp (End of Episode), Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (G-Unit Film and Television), and Mark Canton (Canton Entertainment). Chris Selak and Pete Chatmon also serve as executive producers.
