Sony raises the price of the PS5 in Europe once again

With PlayStation Plus prices are rising around the world, Sony has announced a further increase in the price of the PS5 in others.
In Europe, the PS5 without Blu-ray player will cost €499.99 from April 14, 2025. Since its release in November 2020, this model has seen its price rise by €100. Note that the PS5 with player and the PS5 Pro are not affected by this increase. There is a little good news, however, as the famous Blu-ray player is now sold for €79.99 instead of €119.99.
Other territories are also affected by these new prices.
- United Kingdom: PS5 Digital Edition at £429.99
- Australia: PS5 with player at $829.95 AUD; PS5 without player at $749.95 AUD
- New Zealand: PS5 with player at $949.95 NZD; PS5 without player at $859.95 NZD
To justify its choice, Sony cites "a backdrop of a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates".
