JoJo Siwa’s ex is speaking out about the singer-dancer’s buzzy appearance on Celebrity Big Brother U.K — and revealing that their relationship just ended.
Kath Ebbs, who began dating the Dance Moms alum in 2024, disclosed that Siwa ended their relationship at the CBBUK after-party in a now-deleted 13-minute Instagram video on Saturday.
“I’m filming this in a complete state of shock,” Ebbs, who is nonbinary, said at the beginning of the video, noting that they were not “able to get any clarity from the person that [the situation] involved, who was, I thought, one of the great loves of my life.”
Representatives for Siwa did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly‘s request for comment.
Ebbs said that despite online speculation about Siwa’s onscreen bond with Love Island alum Chris Hughes, the pop star’s housemate and fellow contestant, they still felt confident about their relationship when they traveled from Australia to the United Kingdom to reunite with their partner.
“I honestly thought that I would come on here right now with my partner being like, ‘It was just a TV show and it was all fabricated and we’re happy as Larry,'” they said. “But the truth of the matter is, I decided to show up for my partner and hold up my end of the bargain of being in a partnership and being a teammate, and I flew across the world to support and be there and hold that person in whatever they would be experiencing [after] leaving such a wild experience, [and] instead I was dumped at the after-party with Chris in the next room, which is f—ing crazy to say out loud.”
Ebbs went into further detail about their experience at the wrap party. “I was told that there are confused feelings there — do with that what you will — and that they had realized in the house that I wasn’t the person they wanted to spend the foreseeable future with,” they said. “Which has honestly been, as you can probably tell by my demeanor, so shocking that I feel kind of subhuman right now. Yeah, and I feel incredibly humiliated.”
Siwa addressed her shifting perspective on her identity during her time on Celebrity Big Brother. “I feel, like, so queer,” she said. “I’ve always told myself I’m a lesbian, and I think being here I’ve realized, ‘Oh, I’m not a lesbian, I’m queer.’ And I think that’s really cool.”
The performer also developed a secret language with Hughes so that she could discuss her gender identity. “I’ve met a lot of females — love them, don’t feel like them,” she explained on the show. “Met a lot of males — love them, definitely not them. Met a lot of people in my life that are nonbinary, and these beautiful nonbinary people are who I feel the most like and… I don’t know, it’s not something I want to say about myself yet, but it’s something that is confusing, and that’s probably why we were talking about it last night.”

In their video, Ebbs said, “The person that told me a lot of big things and reassured me ’til the cows come home has, yeah, decided that they don’t wanna be with me, and they wanna explore independence and explore certain feelings.”

Ebbs also called for fans and Big Brother viewers to be gentle when discussing Siwa online. “I don’t wanna get on here and be trash bag about it, ’cause there’s been enough of that the past three weeks with the internet and the trolling and the way that people have come for me, for my relationship, even for that person,” they said. “No one deserves that.”
They also acknowledged the speculation about Siwa and Hughes. “Everything we saw transpire — the emotional cheating, the over-crossing of boundaries, and the questioning of our relationship on national TV — was not fabricated,” they said. “In terms of Mr. Christopher, I dunno. I have opinions. I’m not gonna say them now. In terms of their relationship, that’s their journey. Enjoy.”
Hughes, however, has suggested that his connection with Siwa is strictly platonic. “JoJo was like a pure rock to me. She was someone I can have fun with,” he said, per E! News. “From a friendship point of view, yeah, of course I love her.”
