The Joy-Cons of the first Switch made a lasting impression… but not necessarily for the right reasons. The stick on these controllers ended up drifting more often that not, which meant that the player would perform an action in a game (move forward, backward, etc.) without having intended to do so.
Nintendo has not escaped the fateful question. Journalists wanted to know whether the Joy-Con drift would reappear on Switch 2 controllers, and the manufacturer was keen to reassure everyone.
"The control sticks for joy-con 2 controllers have been redesigned and have improved in areas such as durability", the manufacturer told VGC. Eurogamer also received a reassuring statement.
"As you may have witnessed and felt, the new Joy-Con 2 controllers for the Nintendo Switch 2 have really been designed from the ground up, from scratch, to have bigger movement and smoother movement."
