Sky: Children of the Light to host new in-game awards show to honour creators

- Sky: Children of the Light is set to mark its sixth anniversary with an in-game awards show
- Community creators will be honoured with ten awards being offered
- There are also new events as Aviary Village is transformed into an anniversary space
The role of creators in promoting top releases is something which faces constant debate. Do they overshadow the original? Or are they crucial yet overlooked? Well, for Sky: Children of the Light, it seems to be the latter as they’re set to host a new in-game awards show to honour community creators!
The award show will also serve to mark the sixth anniversary of Sky: Children of the Light, and will see Aviary Village transformed into a lively pre-show playground. Kicking off July 7th, you’ll find areas for swimming, dancing and holding parades. An in-game cinema will also host a 24/7 stream of programming, including messages from developers and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.
Meanwhile, the awards ceremony itself will kick off at the aforementioned cinema, which is meant to hold hundreds of players at once. Running on August 15th from 6 pm Pacific time, devs from thatgamecompany will present awards across ten categories.

Those ten categories are complemented by two major awards: The Sky Community Award and Content of the Year award. Winners will even get the opportunity to step on stage and speak directly to the live audience in attendance.
With Sky: Children of the Light having surpassed 270 million downloads since 2019, the all-ages MMORPG is still going strong. And with an animated film on the way too, it seems that we can expect a lot more from thatgamecompany going into 2025 and beyond!
