Rymir Satterthwaite Vows to Continue Paternity Fight Against Jay-Z After Dropping Lawsuit
*Rymir Satterthwaite, the man claiming to be Jay-Z’s son, withdrew his most recent lawsuit against the rapper on July 24,but insists his quest for truth continues.
Since 2010, Satterthwaite has pursued legal action to prove Jay-Z is his biological father, alleging the mogul has avoided a paternity test and obstructed his efforts. Despite setbacks, he remains determined.
As Hot New Hip Hop reports, in a July 26 Instagram Live stream, Satterthwaite clarified his stance: “I have not stopped my fight, I did withdraw my case, but it’s for a reason […] I have not gotten a settlement. It is not over.”
He emphasized ongoing behind-the-scenes efforts to resolve the matter, which began when he was 17, following his late mother Wanda’s claim of a 1992 encounter with Jay-Z when she was 16.
Satterthwaite’s legal saga has lingered in Jay-Z’s public life for over a decade, recently gaining attention when Nicki Minaj referenced it amid her feud with Roc Nation. Jay-Z’s legal team, in a statement two weeks before the lawsuit was dropped, denounced Satterthwaite’s claims as a “decades-long harassment campaign” and dismissed them as “fabricated claims” already rejected by courts.
In a January 2025 Daily Mail interview, Satterthwaite pleaded for resolution: “My late mother, Wanda, was just 16 years old when she became pregnant with me, and for years I have sought clarity about my identity.”
He added, “I really want to resolve this […] I don’t want any money. I just want the truth.” Urging Jay-Z for a DNA test, he said, “This could all be done with one simple test.”
Satterthwaite expressed frustration over Jay-Z’s silence: “Despite my efforts, Mr. Carter has never once written a letter to me to address these claims.”
He remains resolute, stating, “I remain committed to seeking the truth and justice for myself, my mother all those who deserve answers and accountability.”
With his mother’s passing during the case, Satterthwaite seeks closure for his family, including his three children, through a definitive answer.
