Resident Evil Survival Unit is an upcoming multiplayer strategy game that switches up Capcom’s survival horror franchise for mobile

- Survival horror with real-time strategy elements
- Being developed in collaboration with Capcom
- Online showcase premieres in a few days
Surprise announcements are always fun, and on this fabulous Friday, we’ve got a big one in the form of Resident Evil Survival Unit – Aniplex and Joycity’s upcoming multiplayer strategy game that will bring Capcom’s epic zombie franchise to mobile with a twist.
While details are a little hush-hush at the moment, suffice it to say that you can expect plenty of authenticity here, especially since it’s being developed closely with Capcom itself. I’d also imagine that the stakes will be higher than ever – I mean, it’s tense enough that hordes of the undead are everywhere, but when you add real-time strategy elements into the mix, the pressure will very likely be off the charts.
Now, I’m a bit of a scaredy cat myself, and the only entry in the franchise that I really enjoyed was RE5 (mainly because it was co-op), but I definitely loved playing old-school RTS back then, so I’m actually really intrigued by Resident Evil Survival Unit. And it’s all going to be optimised for mobile too, with a global release for players in Japan, South Korea, North America, Europe, and Asia soon.
If you’re itching to know more about this strategic survival horror experience, there’s going to be a Resident Evil Survival Unit online showcase on July 10th at 10:00 PM (UTC) via the official website.
In the meantime, if you’re on the hunt for more spooky experiences while you wait, why not take a look at our list of the best horror games on Android to get your fill? We’ve also got a recent review for True Fear 3 if that’s something that’s right up your alley.
