Rep. Crockett Slams Trump’s ‘Racist’ Remark to Liberian President at White House | Video

*Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) criticized President Donald Trump for what she called a “racist and wrong” comment made during a White House trade meeting with African leaders.

As The Hill reports, Trump praised Liberian President Joseph Boakai’s English, saying, “Such good English, such beautiful. Where did you learn to speak so beautifully?” He added, “Where were you educated? In Liberia? Well, that’s very interesting. It’s beautiful English.” Crockett highlighted that English is Liberia’s official language, making Trump’s remarks misguided.

Taking to X, Crockett expressed her frustration, stating, “Trump never misses an opportunity to be racist and wrong, and every day he finds a new way to be embarrassing.”

She further noted, “Asking the President of Liberia where he learned English when it’s literally the official language is peak ignorance.”

The Texas congresswoman argued that such comments undermine diplomatic efforts, adding, “I’m pretty sure being blatantly offensive is not how you go about conducting diplomacy.”

Boakai, whose English carries a West African accent, responded to Trump’s comment with a laugh, showing no visible offense during the exchange. Watch the moment via the YouTube clip above.

Crockett has consistently challenged Trump’s policies. In response, he labeled her a “seriously low IQ individual.” As we reported earlier, during a National Republican Congressional Committee Dinner in early April,  Trump referred to Crockett as the Democrats’ “new star” and questioned her capabilities. He remarked, “If that’s their new star, they’re in serious trouble.” This comment was part of a broader critique of the Democratic Party’s leadership choices.

In a subsequent radio interview, Trump escalated his criticism by calling Crockett a “lowlife” and a “very low-IQ person,” referencing her previous remarks about Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

White House spokesperson Harrison Fields escalated the rebuttal, telling The Hill, “Jasmine Crockett has the brain capacity of a jellyfish and is the last person on Earth to critique anyone’s mental acuity, let alone intelligence.”

Fields further criticized Crockett’s political alignment, claiming, “The Democrats’ rising star has done more to cement the party’s demise than the President she breathlessly supported, the decrepit and feeble Joe Biden.”
