Reed Richards Stretches In The Fantastic Four: First Steps Final Trailer

Good afternoon. We herald a blockbuster beginning. We herald the end (of a long, long wait). We herald… The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Yes, it’s very nearly clobberin’ time now, with the arrival of Marvel’s First Family in the MCU just a month away – and since that release date rapidly approaching, we have a final fantastic trailer teasing the arrival of Reed Richards, Sue and Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm. This time around, we not only get fresh glimpses of Galactus heading to chomp on this alternative Earth – we also see a bit of Mr. Fantastic’s stretchy powers in action, something that hasn’t featured extensively in the film’s marketing so far. Take a look.
Fantastic phwoar! It’s been something of a rocky year for Marvel so far – with both Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts* struggling to set the box office alight (despite particularly good reviews for the latter). But this is by far the studio’s biggest one to get right – can they do justice to some of the most important comic book characters of all time? And will audiences go for it? Considering the stellar cast – Pedro Pascal! Vanessa Kirby! Joseph Quinn! Ebon Moss-Bachrach! – poppy retro-futurist visuals, and sheer excitement at a Fantastic Four movie done properly, it’s all pointing in the right direction. Oh, and did we mention that The Thing has a rock beard in this trailer? That’s worth showing up for.

We’ll find out whether First Steps is a giant leap for the MCU in a month – in the meantime, you can read all about the film in the latest issue of Empire, going on set with the cast, crew, and, most importantly, H.E.R.B.I.E the robot. The Fantastic Four: First Steps comes to UK cinemas on 25 July.
