PSSR brings better graphics to Assassin's Creed Shadows on the PS5 Pro, though it remains far from perfect

Many PS5 Pro owners were eagerly awaiting the 1.0.2 patch. Ubisoft’s latest title is now compatible with the PSSR upscaling solution, which improves image quality.

It’s activated via the game’s menu, and appears to bring real improvements to the latest Assassin’s Creed. The image is more detailed, thanks to a greater anti-aliasing. The video below illustrates the benefits of PSSR when it comes to scenery elements such as palisades and shadows.

Sadly, PSSR remains far from perfect, with a slight loss in sharpness and less detailed reflections on water surfaces. That said, the Balanced mode now features an extended ray tracing.
