The first impressions on FBC: Firebreak are mixed

If we are to believe the reviews published by the press, Remedy Entertainment hasn’t quite managed to get off to a great start into the world of live-service games. FBC: Firebreak, which comes out this June 17, 2025, has got a lukewarm reception by the critics.
At the time of writing, the three-player co-op title has an OpenCritic average of 75% (18 reviews). On Metacritic, the score falls sharply to 65% on PC (11 reviews) and 63% on PS5 (11 reviews).
Among the strenghts of the game we find the Control universe, which always hits the mark, an original healing system, a sometimes high difficulty level that provides a challenge, and an excellent art direction.
Unfortunately, the game currently lacks content (barely five different kinds of missions), variety in terms of weapons and enemies, and ends up feeeling repetitive. Shooting feedback is also lacking, and progression is too tedious.
Remember that FBC: Firebreak is included in Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra.
