Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket revamps Trade Feature to fulfil community requests, putting the fun back in the “T” of TCG

- Wishlist feature lets you pick the cards you want to receive
- Trade Tokens have been eliminated
- It’s a Shinedust party over here
It’s been a while since Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket launched its Trade feature, and a long and winding road before we’ve actually gotten to this point – but the TCG powers that be have heard us, as the Wishlist feature is finally being added to get rid of our woes once and for all.
Yes, no longer will you have to send your wishes out into the ether when trading cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket – when the update rolls out on July 29th, we can all finally indicate which cards we’d like to trade for, with up to 20 cards that can be added to the Wishlist on the My Cards screen and three of them displayed on the main profile.
Does that mean I can finally get my hands on that OG Charizard ex that’s eluded me since Day One? Maybe not, but at the very least, I’ll have a say on which cards other players can trade with me instead of getting another random Exeggutor from my many, many Exeggutors.
Also – and perhaps more importantly – Trade Tokens will now be discontinued, to be replaced instead with Shinedust. Cards will no longer be consumed as well when trading, with double the amount of Shinedust you can get when pulling a dupe from a pack.
So, what do you do with your Trade Tokens now, you ask? They can, thankfully, be exchanged for other goodies you might need, with a 1:1 exchange for a Pack Hourglass (60 times maximum). On the other hand, one Trade Token will be equivalent to Shinedust x10, with no limit.
All that said, it’s nice to know the devs are listening to the community, which is always a good thing. It’s no wonder Pokemon TCG Pocket is in our list of nominees for the Pocket Gamer People’s Choice Award 2025 – and if you haven’t voted yet, now’s your chance to give your favourite TCG some love!
