Pocketpair is making changes to Palworld in response to Nintendo's complaint

Pocketpair and Nintendo are at the heart of a major legal battle over Palworld. The Japanese giant accuses the studio of infringing three of The Pokémon Company’s patents about the capture of monsters in the game.
In a message posted on X, Pocketpair thanked players and also announced changes “to avoid disruptions to the development and distribution of Palworld”. It was to this end that the v0.3.11 patch from November 2024 removed the ability to summon Pals by throwing spheres (a bit like a Poké Ball). The animation was replaced by a static one at the player’s side.
In addition, the upcoming v0.5.5 patch will remove the ability to glide using a Pal. From now on, a glider will be used by our character. Pocketpair wishes to avoid *"further disruptions to the development of Palworld during the current legal process. The studio is still contesting Nintendo’s allegations, and is attempting to assert the nullity of the patents covered by the complaint.
