When it came out back in 2008, LittleBigPlanet immediately became an iconic PS3 license. Its hero, Sackboy, was also elevated to the rank of PlayStation mascot.
Alas, the little plush toy gradually fell into oblivion. The last game in the franchise, LittleBigPlanet 3, was released in 2014. We also got a rather average spin-off called Sackboy: A Big Adventure arrived in 2020.
Recently, viewers noticed an intriguing detail on the PlayStation Productions label intro released before the Until Dawn movie released last week. Sackboy was removed from the video. He had appeared in the video since it was first broadcast in February 2022.
It should also be pointed out that Astro took over as PlayStation’s mascot following the resounding critical success of Astro Bot. Sackboy may well be heading to retirement.
