Phil Collins health: Singer confirms hospitalisation but due to knee surgery
Phil Collins is on the mend.
Over the weekend, rumours started to circulate online that the singer had been hospitalised and some reports even claimed that he had been placed in hospice care.
But now a representative for the 74-year-old has confirmed that he was in hospital and revealed the real reason behind it.

The speculation that he was very unwell gained a lot of traction online after the shock deaths of celebrities Malcolm-Jamal Warner, heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne and WWE superstar Hulk Hogan last week.
Fans were quick to panic, but the confirmation that it was just knee surgery has calmed things down.

But the worry from his fans comes after his health decline in in recent years, and the fact that the famed musician has retreated from public life after retiring.
Earlier this year the Genesis frontman admitted that his health has had a big impact on losing his passion for music, during an interview with MOJO magazine.
“I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens. But I’m not hungry for it anymore,” he told the outlet, before he paused and added, “The thing is, I’ve been sick, I mean, very sick…”
The outlet did not share any more information about his condition.

Collins suffered a spinal injury in 2007 which caused severe nerve damage, leaving him unable to play drums for a long time before undergoing surgery for it in 2015.
He also has a condition called “drop foot” which makes it hard to walk, as well as type 2 diabetes. In 2017, he suffered an injury to the head.
During his last slate of concerts in 2022, he had to perform while sitting down, and he was replaced on the drums by his son, Nic Collins.
