Peter Gunz Responds After Ex-Wife Amina Buddafly’s Homelessness Revelation

*In a heartfelt revelation that sparked widespread attention, former “Love & Hip Hop: New York “star Amina Buddafly shared that she and her two daughters, Cori and Bronx, are currently without a permanent home.
As Hot 97 reports, in a TikTok video, Buddafly disclosed that she had to leave her Los Angeles residence and is now staying with family in Hamburg, Germany. “Day one [of] waking up in Germany after losing our home in LA. We don’t have a home, y’all. Thank God for family because we’re in Germany with my family. We’re going to be here ’til I figure it out. Because I will, as I always do. The last couple of years have been so rough,” she said, reflecting on the challenges she’s faced.
Buddafly explained that she parted with most of her possessions before relocating. “I threw my whole life in the trash. 80% of what we owned, and I didn’t own anything valuable anyway, to begin with,” she shared.
Despite the difficult circumstances, she emphasized her gratitude and optimism, noting, “It feels good to not have much but have what’s important, which is love.” She added that she and her daughters remain “happy, healthy, powerful, and capable” as they navigate this transition.
The emotional post quickly gained traction online, prompting a response from Buddafly’s ex-husband, Peter Gunz, via Instagram Live. The Bronx rapper, addressing the viral video, expressed frustration and a sense of betrayal over Buddafly’s public disclosure.

Gunz clarified that he continues to financially support their daughters and had offered Buddafly a rent-free apartment in Dallas, which she declined. “I have an apartment in Dallas. I said, ‘Amina, just go stay in Dallas. Right? [She said] ‘What am I going to do in Dallas?’ Live rent-free? Swim? Chill for a little bit; give me a breather because I can’t pay rent at multiple places,” he recounted.
Gunz further emphasized his ongoing commitment, stating, “I send Amina thousands every month. She will get on here and tell you, too.” He refuted the notion that Buddafly and their children are homeless, noting that he had arranged a round-trip ticket for them, with a return to the U.S. scheduled for August 23, and had secured an Airbnb in Los Angeles for their use.

“I was going to pay that up for a couple of months. Why tell the world? I feel a little betrayed, in a way, because she knows I would never, that could never be me,” Gunz said, expressing his dismay at the public narrative. He also took issue with Buddafly’s comment, “Thank God for my family in Germany,” pointing out that he has been consistently providing financial support.
The former couple’s tumultuous relationship, which unfolded on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop franchise, has long been a subject of public interest. Gunz, reflecting on their shared history, remarked on Instagram, “really thought we gave the world enough of our private life. However, the show must go on and this must be addressed.”
