Nintendo won't be able to meet the high demand for the Switch 2 in Japan

Many Japanese gamers will not be able to pre-order the Switch 2 and therefore receive it on June 5. The demand for the console is pretty much crazy in the country.
According to Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, 2.2 million Japanese have registered to take part in the draw via My Nintendo. Faced with this influx, Furukawa apologized, explaining that not everyone will be able to buy the Switch 2 at launch.
"Furukawa here. To bring you the Nintendo Switch 2, we purchased a large number of components in advance and launched production. On April 2, we announced all the details about the Nintendo Switch 2 and began accepting applications to purchase by invitation on the My Nintendo Store. As a result, we received applications from 2.2 million people in Japan alone."
"However, this far exceeds our previous expectations and the number of Nintendo Switch 2 units we can deliver from the My Nintendo Store on June 5. Therefore, it is with great regret that we anticipate that a significant number of customers will not be selected when the results of the prize draw are announced tomorrow, April 24."
"To prevent those who were not selected in the first draw from having to re-apply, My Nintendo Store will automatically carry over those applicants not selected in the first wave to the second. However, even with the number of units available in the second draw, we will not be able to meet all the requests we have received. We sincerely apologize for not having been able to meet your expectations despite our preparations."
