Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is Developed by Mario Party Studio

Nintendo has a reputation for not revealing who’s working on its first-party titles. We saw this with Donkey Kong Bananza before it finally confessed that it was developed by the same team as Super Mario Odyssey. While it hasn’t done this with Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, an update to the studio’s website has finally confirmed it.
Nintendo Cube, known for the Mario Party series, is the developer in question. It’s best known for more recent entries in the former, including Super Mario Party Jamboree (which is getting a Nintendo Switch 2 edition with new content on July 24th). It also delivered the well-received Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics.
However, Nintendo Cube also has duds like Everybody 1-2-Switch and Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival on the Wii U to its credit. You can add Welcome Tour, which received extensive backlash for costing $10 when it’s essentially a tech demo. It also bombed among critics with a 55 Metascore based on 46 reviews.
