Nintendo provides an update on Switch games compatible with the Switch 2

While backward-compatible, the Switch 2 won’t necessarily offer a flawless experience on all the games originally launched on Switch. That said, Nintendo is open about the problems encountered with certain software.

That’s why the manufacturer regularly updates its chart on the status of compatibility tests carried out on Switch 1 games running on Switch 2. In total, Nintendo claims to have tested 122 titles developed by its own teams and over 15,000 third-party games.

Around 75% of the 15,000 games showed no problems after basic compatibility tests. 24% can be launched, but further testing is underway. For the remaining percentage, concerns have been noted. These may be malfunctions in certain parts of the game, compatibility problems at start-up or total incompatibility.

Nintendo Labo Toy-Con, Niconico, Abema, Hulu, Crunchyroll and InkyPen are currently the only software listed as incompatible.
