What if Naughty Dog was done with The Last of Us?! Just as he seemed to be raising the possibility of a new game, director Neil Druckmann may well be leaving Ellie behind.
In an interview with Variety, the franchise’s creator was rather evasive about its future. Instead, he wanted to prepare fans for the possibility of the franchise coming to an end when it comes to video games.
"I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of Last of Us. This could be it."
In February 2024, in the making-of “Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II”, Druckmann said that there would probably be "another chapter to this story". Naughty Dog is currently working on the new license Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
