Two years after introducing the world to Charlie Cale, Natasha Lyonne is finally hitting the road again for Poker Face season 2.
Peacock has set a spring release for the second outing of the Rian Johnson-created saga, which follows Charlie — a human lie detector — across the country as she narrowly evades capture, following a nasty encounter with a dangerous casino boss.
While she prefers to travel solo, Charlie has a knack for making friends… and getting wrapped up in perilous mysteries. Following in the footsteps of its first season, Poker Face is teasing a bevy of exciting guest stars, including John Mulaney and Wicked star Cynthia Erivo. And why stop at just one Erivo, when you can have three?
In first-look photos for the season ahead, it looks like Charlie befriends triplets, as Erivo appears playing three different characters. Given the high death toll on Poker Face — which often operates as a murder mystery — at least one of those Erivos may not make it to the end of her episode. But, on the bright side, three roles for the Oscar nominee means her overall survival rate (and chance for a potential return) is better than most.

Only time will tell which of those stars will be trouble, come to Charlie’s aid, or find themselves at the center of the mystery she’s hoping to solve.
The first season of Poker Face was heralded for its creativity, with each episode acting as a mini-movie, bringing different themes, aesthetics, and influences to the forefront.

“To bring Season 2 to life, we pulled visual inspiration from American ’70s cinema, all the stuff we love like Robert Altman, Bob Rafelson, Peter Bogdanovich,” Lyonne and Johnson said in a statement. “But the backbone of this show is TV — the kind of TV we grew up watching, episodic case of the week gems like Columbo and The Rockford Files and Quantum Leap. Each episode is a mini movie, existing in its own world with a unique tone and vibe, featuring an eccentric lot of characters played by a truly gonzo parade of guest stars.”

The season one finale saw Charlie take down her nemesis, casino fixer Cliff (Benjamin Bratt) only to be offered a choice by the more powerful Beatrix Hasp (Rhea Perlman): work for her, or be hunted down. Charlie, no surprise, chose to continue her life on the road — and on the run — resetting the premise just in time for a new set of adventures.
The series earned four Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Lyonne, and snagged Peacock its first-ever Emmy win for Judith Light’s Outstanding Guest Actress Performance in a Comedy Series.
This time around, the weekly mystery series will have 12 episodes (up from season one’s 10), and is expected to hit Peacock in Spring 2025.
