On May 16, 2025, 22-year-old Natalia Bryant earned her film degree from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, graduating with Cum Laude distinction. Her stole reflected family, school spirit, and legacy — embroidered with her sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma, “Class of 2025,” the Trojans’ “Fight On!” slogan, and her father Kobe Bryant’s iconic “Black Mamba” logo.
Vanessa Bryant posted photos on Instagram, captioning, “4 ever

Academic Success While Honoring a Powerful Legacy
Natalia’s honors indicate a GPA between 3.5 and 3.69 — impressive for any student, especially one balancing public life and a modeling career. She walked for Versace in 2024, proving her talents span industries. Now with a film degree, she’s positioned to follow in Kobe’s post-NBA creative footsteps. USC reports over 70% of its cinematic arts graduates land jobs in film or TV within a year.

Just Miles Away, Malcolm X Way Is Unveiled
On May 17, 2025, Los Angeles renamed a five-mile stretch of Crenshaw Boulevard “Malcolm X Way” during the 33rd annual Malcolm X Festival in Leimert Park. The move honored the revolutionary leader’s 100th birthday and decades of impact on civil rights and Black pride.
“He was a truth-teller, unafraid to speak uncomfortable truths,” said Councilmember Heather Hutt. “His dedication to human rights transcends borders, connecting the American struggle to global movements.”
Malcolm X’s Evolution and Enduring Impact
Born Malcolm Little in 1925, Malcolm X rose from hardship to become one of the most dynamic voices in American history. After joining the Nation of Islam in the 1950s, he gained national attention for preaching Black self-reliance and exposing systemic racism. He later left the NOI, converted to Sunni Islam, and advocated for global unity and human rights under the name El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz.
Malcolm was assassinated in 1965 at just 39 years old. But his legacy — fueled by speeches, his autobiography, and a shift toward universal justice — remains deeply relevant. The renaming of Crenshaw is the latest tribute to his vision.
