AMD’s FSR 4, launched with the Radeon RX 9070, is officially limited to RDNA4 GPUs and games validated by the company. However, modders have developed Optiscaler, a tool for adding FSR 4 to games already supporting DLSS, XeSS or other versions of FSR.
Optiscaler works by injecting upscaling technologies and can also add image generation or anti-lag via NVIDIA Reflex. That said, the current version of FSR 4 in Optiscaler is still experimental.
This tool has attracted particular interest for Cyberpunk 2077, where it improves image quality without the risk of anti-cheat detection.
