When it comes to puzzlers, it can often feel like a balancing act. Have I made the wrong move? Could I have done that better? Well, if you don’t worry about that sensation and instead relish it, why not try out the newly-released Mino, a real balancing act of a puzzler?
In Mino, the gameplay is deceptively simple as you match the titular cutesy creatures in sets of three. But wait, what’s this? As you get rid of rows, the platform on which they’re standing begins to tilt left and right! Yes, you’re not just attempting to get a high score but also to make sure that your cute Minos don’t get sent flying into the abyss.
You’ll need to beat the clock to succeed, and fortunately, you’ll have more than a few power-ups to help you along the way. You can even upgrade your Minos! Sadly, they won’t get any better at balancing but you can up their ability to earn coins and experience to help you create the perfect matching team.
Falling down
While it may not be all that exceptional, Mino is one of those releases I would point to whenever people decry mobile as nothing but gacha and fake advertising. This is a perfectly serviceable, fun-looking puzzler with plenty of long-term appeal as you unlock and upgrade new Minos.
