*The world knows Barack and Michelle Obama as parents to daughters Sasha and Malia, but it could have been three children if things went another way.
During an appearance on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Michelle revealed Barack was disappointed over her refusal to have add to their four-member household with a third child.
Although Barack wanted a boy as the newest Obama to take to ball games and go fishing, Michelle put a stop to the notion, saying ‘no’
“I was like, ‘I think I’ve been lucky with these two,’” the 61-year-old former First Lady shared while voicing her concern over having a “crazy” child since it would be a late pregnancy. “Barack was like, ‘We should have a third,’ and I was like, ‘Dude! We’re gonna get a crazy one.’”
Michelle’s comments come as divorce rumors surround her and Barack. The power couple, who married in 1992, will celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary in October, Sandra Rose reports. No longer toddlers, Malia, who is 26 and Sasha, the youngest at 23, are grown women.
In addition to Barack’s desire for a third Obama, Michelle opened up about suffering from postpartum depression after giving birth to her daughters.
“I think the sadness or the postpartum that I felt with my kids really came from, like, you love these babies so much,” she told Kylie, who is expecting her fourth child with husband Jason Kelce. “You immediately, you’re connected, and you think, ‘Oh my god, all you have is me. I feel so bad for you. I wish you had a parent,’” Michelle admitted.
Switching gears, the conversation turned to husbands, Barack and Jace, with the women bonding over their men being girl dads.
“That’s because that’s what your husband deserved,” Michelle told Kylie. “That’s what I told Barack: ‘Dude, you need a bunch of women in your life to smack you around.’”
